Misunderstood

Misunderstood is a misnomer. No one can misunderstand anyone. They can either understand or not at all. It is a commonplace fallacy to assume that one is misunderstood, it is a lazy excuse to say that one has misunderstood.
It occurred to me that while 'understanding' or 'not understanding' has versatile application from inanimate objects( read lessons, books, orders, rules, etc. etc.) to otherwise, 'misunderstood' is a term we use for each other. We misunderstand people, we never misunderstand school lessons. Why should this exception arise? This kind of social bias for the usage of the English language creates a milieu of confusions, millions of excuses and a clear divide to any relationship. It would perhaps be better if we were all honest enough to admit that we either know a person or we don't, instead of hovering somewhere in between.
Such a middle world does not really exist. It is a mere result of our whims.
Our whims often lead us to make dangerous mistakes, those which can be avoided by simply a bit of honesty.
